Bodog Has Not Stopped Taking Neteller
It has been mentioned here and elsewhere that Bodog is no longer doing Neteller transactions for American accounts, or at least not deposits. I just had a lengthy conversation with Bodog customer service. Here’s what I was told:

Bodog has NOT cut off transactions with Neteller.

Some transactions from Neteller to Bodog in the last few hours have failed to go through. There are two reasons for this. One, Neteller (as noted in other threads) as of today ceased allowing Instacash for their American customers, so obviously Instacash deposits are failing. Two, communication between Bodog and Neteller has been “up and down” for the last few hours, hence a minority of standard deposits did not go through.

But again, Bodog has NOT made a policy decision to block Neteller deposits. Nor, to their knowledge, has Neteller made a policy decision to block deposits to Bodog, other than the Instacash, which is gone for Americans across the board. (He did note that it is entirely possible Neteller could start restricting standard Neteller transactions for Americans at any time of course.)

There have been no issues, he said, with money going from Bodog to Neteller, so withdrawals are fine (unless and until Neteller decides otherwise).

He also stated that if American customers are nervous about withdrawing their money via Neteller, they will decide on a case-by-case basis whether to waive the rule about having to withdraw your money the same way you deposited it. (It certainly sounded like they’d be very reasonable about that.)

When I called and asked about this, initially the person I spoke with said that it was possible Neteller had cut off deposits to Bodog, but he knew for a fact Bodog had not cut them off. He stated that Neteller had told them nothing officially, but that they had found out that many of their customers had had their deposit attempts rejected. They were puzzled, though, because some deposits were going through and some were not.

As we spoke further, however, it turned out he was unaware Neteller had recently cut off Americans from Instacash at ALL books. So it wasn’t a Bodog thing; it was an Instacash thing. When I informed him of the Instacash change, he said, yes, come to think of it those were the ones where they seemed to have been having problems. He thought a few standard deposits might have failed as well, which he attributed to technical issues of their “communication with Neteller being up and down,” but said most seemed to be going through as usual.

But as far as they were aware at that time, Neteller had not cut off deposits to Bodog (and Bodog certainly hadn’t).

Probably what was posted at Fezzik’s was a matter of Bodog inferring that Neteller might have made such a change in policy, before they knew Instacash had been eliminated for Americans across the board at all books.

It is certainly possible that what Bodog customer service stated to me is erroneous, but all I can do is pass along what they told me.

In any case, the important thing is even if Neteller transactions with Bodog have not been eliminated, Neteller transactions with all the books (for Americans at least) are certainly likely to be eliminated soon enough, and everyone should adjust accordingly.
