Got rocked today but give it time. Maybe it will work out.

After being lifted in his first start after giving up 8 runs in less than 4 innings he sure as hell had to think maybe he made a mistake playing baseball. Personally, I think it was the right choice, baseball that is.

When someone thinks he can play two sports in the majors usually he is not good enough at either.

most white guys that play baseball and football..... were/are qb's..... Sarmardzija wasn't.... I'm not sure he would have been able to make it in the nfl as a receiver....

I guess we'll never know.... but at the very least his "mistake" is garunteeing him somthing like 15+ million over 5 years.... and throwing a 98 mph fastball, you can usually find mlb work/contracts alot longer than the typical lifespan of an nfl player... which is about 4 years of non garunteed money.

Plus at the time of his mlb drafting i think the cubs gave him the highest ever Bonus in mlb draft history....

i doubt he has a lot of regrets

Samardja has bigtime control issues on the mound. He was a top 2 or 3 receiver in the NCAA. He is a great athlete, he should have gone to the NFL.

Most guys given the choice of NFL or MLB take MLB for obvious reasons like being able to walk and think after their playing days.

plus they can't get "cut" and lose their contracts like in the nfl, and their avg career's can be a lot longer, Wile...

but the downside of choosing MLB, even the best of talents will spend 2-3 years riding buses in the minors and playing in front of 1,500 people.... most Nfl top talents are gonna be right there on the 53 man roster every sunday

I agree, I think he should still go to NFL

He would do very well as a tight end

                              TE???

yeah that would be easy enough, gain 50-75 lbs and learn to block 300 lb monsters that run 4.7 40's coming off the edge....

I'd try to learn a bit of control first.....

but given the ego of athletes that have always succeeded... you could see him throwing in the baseball towell... way way too early... if I were him I'd take the life of his contract and the 5-7 million still coming his way in his 5 year contract before I tried football

Yeah, he made a huge mistake picking baseball. A $17 million dollar guaranteed mistake.

He's not a starter. The cubs need to try him out in the closer roll. Anyone is better then Gregg has been. I'm taking the Phillies -131 to complete the sweep on Thursday. Also like Detroit -114 with Verlander going against Boston.
