whos hopping on the pedro train tomorrow?
In March, he joined the Dominican Republic's squad for the 2009 World Baseball Classic, in an attempt to showcase his arm. Martinez pitched six scoreless innings with 6 strikeouts and no walks, but the team was quickly eliminated from the tournament and no MLB contract was forthcoming. In July 2009, Phillies scouts evaluated Martinez in two simulated games against the Phillies DSL team, leading to a one-year, $1-million contract.[9] Martinez told reporters, “I would just like to be the backup. If I could be the backup, that would be a great thing to have— a healthy Pedro behind everybody else, in case something happens. That would be a great feeling to have on a team, eh?”[10] On August 11, 2009, Phillies manager Charlie Manuel stated that Martínez would move into the team's starting rotation, replacing Jamie Moyer. His first start is scheduled for August 12.

    shutout?
    no hitter?
    under?
    cubs team total under?

    ...square?

    discuss.

I think I'll sit this one out and observe, I know he has been throwing some simulated games but that is nothing like a MLB game after being out as long as he has.

I have a feeling Pedro will not make it out the first inning tomorrow. Wrigley Field is not where you want to start a comeback in the majors with weak stuff.

I think he does well. Jamie historically fades down the stretch.

I might take a flyer on his first start @ -110 vs. the Cubs. With the phillies line up vs Cubs pitching.
