Had he worded this different, it wouldn't have resulted in such a shi* storm. Would've sounded a lot better had he said, "We want to get back on the field and play as much as anyone. That said, we have already made generous concessions to the owners and do not want this latest proposal to be the camel sticking its' nose under the tent and wanting future concessions down the line."


The implication being the owners are trying to open the door to a salary cap.

I doubt these guys will stay in the house for another year. it sounds good in theory and feels like "the right thing to do" but they will not last. the world does not stop for anyone and they will feel those repercussions daily. it becomes a mental struggle at that point.
