If so, I get why the father/son were at least very suspicious and confronted him (I would qualify that asking if they father/son knew the homeowners or at least knew the jogger didn't have a general right to be on the property). Standing on the lawn and observing is one thing, but if he's going into the actual building that's not his and without the owner's consent, it screams you're up to no good (i.e. Looking for construction tools to steal from the site).

Georgia is out of control right now. I just scrolled through the AP news feed and 3 of the first few articles were shootings in GA. Some former LA Lakers player shot someone in GA recently. Must be something in the water. I would expect that kind of ghetto behavior in places like Chicago or St. Louis but gd GA wtf?

Seeing the videos, the defense lawyer is going to (IMO successfully) argue they were performing a citizen's arrest on him to stop a burglary. Burglary in Georgia only requires entering the building without permission.

They'll say he looked like he was casing the house and there's your felony to invoke citizen's arrest.

Personally, I would amend the law to make citizen's arrest only be for physically violent crimes (i.e. You're watching someone getting beat up, stabbed, etc. not property crimes) but I think the father/son are within the letter of the law as it is.

they were actively monitoring this situation for quite some time. They'd seen the same guy on the various cameras over and over. There was no doubt that he was stealing. They finally caught him in the act, and succesfully stopped him.

they suspected he stole their gun awhile back. so they had to arm themselves to do the citizens arrest, because for all they know he had their gun in his "joggin" Khaki fuking shorts.

all the guy had to do was, run into some yards or just give himself up and realized he'd been caught and take the slap on the wrist for stealing a hammer and move on.

of hundreds of options. he choose to try to fight a guy with a gun with his fists.

I'm loving the excuses people are making for him walking into a vacant house under construction. People are trying to say maybe he was interested in buying the house (I don't see a "for sale" sign on the property where this argument could be made). I'm sorry, I've been told from a young age not to enter private property without the owner's permission. There's people trying to say they do it all the time also on there.
