We can and should "open" businesses up as soon as possible but the caveat is consumers may or may not be fast to react/respond to life as normal regardless of the "open" date. Consumers will be slow to respond to life as normal.

Without a vaccine (not even considering the logistics of getting everyone vaccinated, but the folks who refuse), you're absolutely right about consumers responding.

Some will take their chances and continue like normal. Others will adopt the mask/glove look. But a percentage are going to see things like restaurants, arenas, basically any crowd gathering as a potential threat. Door dash, uber eats, amazon, grocery delivery. Welcome to the new world where people feel 80% normal, but it'll require 20% of the people to deliver it. High unemployment is back for quite a while I'd say.
