What you could see happen in college sports is the seasons for sports are flipped. College basketball starts in September and college football starts in March. In this way football practices will be in the fall and players won't get hurt.

Kentucky Derby and French Open were rescheduled to September. Seems stupid to cancel any fall sports.

This thing is done in Asia. Japanese and Korean Baseball is going to go on. No excuses for American sports 5 months from now to STILL be shut down

You can't play football without mini-camps or summer camps. The sport is based on weight training. Now tennis or soccer can re-start with only a few days of practice. Football is a different animal.

They can lift weights at home in their garage, backyard, living room etc.

It's the hitting with pads on that they need to get into football shape. That's what is going to get pushed back months and jeopardizes the season.

Wow. Just read an article with projections from an virus expert and he said there was basically no way seasons would be played with fans but probably could be played without fans. Even when the unlock happens, social distancing will still be a requirement so restaurants and bars will only have half as many people. Projection for vaccine is no sooner than spring of next year.

I think the virus expert was only referring to summer sports actually. The fall brings back the virus along with flu which causes some additional problems so think it is probably unlikely that football happens.
