It's a double edged sword. As the liquidity in the tennis markets has increased the lines have become progressively less tight. Matchy used to be just a few cents off Pinny in the majority of the women's matches just a couple months ago, but now they can't even compete with 5Dimes in many instances.

As a max $100 bettor in tennis I was happier with the way things were 2 months ago, myself.

I think its people making more offers hoping to collect the 2% commision. Will be interesting what kind of offers are out there for football season, especially with some of the smaller college conferences.

i don't think it's that good, unless it changes which i am hoping..

here we are 48 hrs from the 1st NFL game and this is what's available.

only 15$ each side on the ML??

        the spread +3 -122/-3 +112?? wtf??? a 10 cent line??

and forget the CFL.. an 8 cent line, and ML only 3$$ you can bet on it and a horrible -600/+500 to boot...

baseball is not bad though.. and i am sure NFL reg season when it starts will get better, but i just hope ML's have a lot of liquidity cause lately i've been doing alot of ml dogs.. i am praying there isn't only 23$ available on each side.. i don't remember how it was last yr at matchy in regards to ML's.. i hope it's good..

            flyer,

i swear, IF matchy closed up tomorrow, i'd be gone.. i'd never ever ever again place another bet offshore.. i'd officially retire from gambling.. there would be no use in betting ever again.. matchy is the only reason i am still betting.. it woudl no longer be worth it for me to be betting into locals and 10 cent lines after being spoiled with 1 cent lines for many yrs..

in fact, betting at matchy is even better than 1 cent lines, cause when their line is -123/+122, i usually make an offer at +123 and it gets matched.. so basically, it's like playing into a better than 0 cent line cause i get back 0.2% on offers, so it's lke playing into a +0.2% line..

when pinny has +118 on game, i am usually +124.
            when OLY has +105, i have +123.

why would i want to ever play into a pinny -128/+118 line, when on that same game, matchy is -123/+123?

the day matchy goes, the day nicky santoro goes and calls it quits for life and finds a new occupation.. it's tough enough to beat this gambling game, i am not going to play into a 10 cent line after playing into a 0 cent line..

            matchy leaves, i leave..

Couldn't have said it better myself. Never fully realized it till recently. Started adding everything up and was amazed how much money I won/saved because of it.

This is the thing: Because of MB, if you put the time and effort in you can win against so called sharp lines. No excuses, if you can't beat a one cent spread over the long haul then you shuldn't be doing this.

I have had a fabulous baseball season and owe all of my sucess to 95% of my plays being at MB. Can't imagine betting bases anywhere else and actually winning, as it would be just too hard.

I still don't think MB gets nearly enough credit from everyone in the gambling world (like I said I don't have much room to talk as I didn't really utilize it until just recently).

I don't think I am overstating this when I say that I think MB may be the best thing to happen for the players in sports gambling history, IMO.

Im not sure how MB hasnt put all books out of business.

Anyone who wants a serious chance of winning should play EXCLUSIVELY at matchbook.

Countless times I have made offers that get matched which are 5-10 cents better than what Pinny is giving. Anyone who lays 5 cents or more deserves to lose.

yes for sure fiver, it is tiring, stressful, aggravating, sometimes boring, and i do this everyday of my life and i do get annoyed, and its the same shit everyday..but i need to make an income.. i can't just live off what i have.. money flies.. yesterday i left my house for 1 hr and came home and spent 850 bucks.. and i bought nothing for me.. bills, gas, etc. it's either this or get a full time job, and i am a lazy fukk. i dont want to work.. but this is a hard job and it's not easy. it's tough to make money out there gambling.. its a grind and it's profitable if i put in the hrs.

btw, saying matchy is the best thing to happen in sports gambing is an understatement. getting 18 cents better on every game than OLY makes me speechless.. it's like a dream come true.

What's funny is that were at times wagering with each other and don't even realize it.

In fact, I think ICE probably got some of my DET/MIN offer earlier today.......if you did, thanks.

funny you say that cause i always think of this too.. you know what, we can always arrange to meet each other at matchy at certain times and take offers from each other and save a ton.

                              for example.

an NFL line is -3-115/+3+111.. we can meet halfway and take +/-113.. we can each take turns and see what we like.. i don't know if this would work..

Matchbook like 3 years ago had like 3k-5k on Atlanta game maybe now they have like 5-7 on average

Yes rising but should be more

The average americans will not play at an exchange no matter what the juice is, I say 75% here do not play at matchbook for football.

                                We like the regular books

                                5 dimes

I have been saying this for years and like always right again.

LOL. Too funny. Detroit is actually my favorite play for the day. You know me too well FH. I got them at a great price, did you offer -101, as that is what I accepted them at. I liked the price so much I didn't even make an offer, I just took what was out there and was happy about it.

Tigers are one of the best home teams in all of baseball, they are world beaters at home. Now they are going up against a team in the Twins that really struggle and just doesn't look like the same team when they play on the road. Throw in the fact it's game 1 of the series, a game where generally road teams (esp dome teams) play their worst as they aren't quite used to their surroundings.

The Twins also have a rookie pitcher (who I don't care much for either) pitching in a really tough spot, on the road, on a friday night, in sort of a playoff atmostphere setting and somehow this game is around even? WTF? It opened -119 at Pinny, which is more like it and I thought it might actually go up from there.

I couldn't agree more. Like a few in here have already said it's surprising how this hasn't caught on much more.

Other then some smaller type stuff or betting openers, Matchbook should be the first book every new player signs up for when picking a sportsbook but for some reason that just doesn't seem to be the case.

Obviously people don't feel very comfortable with the whole setup of an exchange but once they get ahold of how to use it, they will be asking themselves why they didn't play there sooner.

I can remember back 3-4 years ago when Pinnacle was still in the U.S and you went to a forum and if a newbie came aboard and asked where he should put his money, EVERYONE answered Pinnacle. That should be the way it is nowadays with Matchbook but it seems like it isn't. Especially for the newbie type player who just wants to bet just game sides and totals.

Rumor has it Bookmaker is coming out with an exchange very soon and that should only make things even better for the player. Hopefully in a few years they are everywhere.

                                          Why don't Americans like exchanges?

For the same reason Americans are afraid of socialized health care. Ignorance, stupidity, lack of personal research.

The rest of the world bets with exchanges, why not Americans?

OBTW: Fish nice call on our Tigers play last night.

Though I don't play many, lots of decent looking favorites on the board for today.

Looks like pass on most of these games for today but let's see if we can make it two in a row and go with one of the smaller (but still pretty big) favorites today and take the Giants at home.

They play really well at home and let one slip last night to the lowly Reds and at -130ish, this isn't that bad of a price (obviously at Matchbook, LOL).

Who you like today Fish? I can't find hardly any dogs that I like today.

I just recently got an unsolicited email from Matchbook stating now they have direct deposit funding. Did anyone else get a similar email?
