Yes, assuming any information coming out of China is believable, they have managed to contain the problem, and the final numbers weren't that bad. But before all the yahoos start jumping up and down and yelling "See, I told you so, nothing to worry about", you should think a little bit about how China arrived at that point - they've basically had their country on lockdown for the past 2 months. If they had chosen to ignore it and do nothing, well, I guess we'll never know what would have happened under those conditions, but given how it has spread around the rest of the world I think it's kind of silly to assume that it would have just died out on its own without affecting very many people.

So, if the rest of the world implements measures similar to China, perhaps we can achieve results in the same ballpark. Realistically, I doubt if the rest of the free world can muzzle its citizens the way China can, so I suspect the results won't be as good. Hopefully, though, not too much worse.
