thanksgiving sounds great......... if i'm not mistaken, augusta national closes in the summer. it was created by rich northerners who wanted a winter retreat.

They could play the Masters on Christmas Eve and Day, two rounds each day, if they wanted to; no golfer is going to turn down an invitation to that tournament.

Why? After the current season ends around Labor Day, there's three months of minor events that absolutely no one cares about except the guy that wins one -- and his accountant. The Masters could certainly play during football season; CBS can show golf on Saturday afternoon and college football at night. Be a little creative; on Sunday, CBS could show golf in the afternoon and then give it a Sunday night game that week.

The condition of the golf course won't be as good as it is in April; so be it.

No one caring about and sponsorship is 2 different animals. I just couldn't see how it would be possible, unless the hosts give up all of their money to give their spot to Augusta. I just can't see it happening this year.

A lot of sponsors will not have any money left to sponsor golf tourneys if this drags on for months and the stock market keeps nosediving.
