Will cover Day 5 already since I won't have time tomorrow - Day 5 has been mostly uneventful anyway.
*I look like death after running around non-stop for 4 days. I must now move digs from Mandalay Bay to Bellagio. I really loved Mandalay Bay even though I only crashed there for 2 short nights. I'm thinking that I will book the week prior to the bash there (currently have a reservation at Luxor - there's no way I'm going back to that shithole)
*Bellagio seems to be an oddity among MGM/Mirage properties. The crowd is totally different and everyone is checking out everyone else. I feel like people are trying to recognize me. Truth is, I am also trying to recognize people. Funny.
*The Bellagio sportsbook is a glorious affair. 4 giant screens that are 12 to 15 feet wide and a couple dozen regular-sized TV's, about 150 hugely comfy leather seats and a really cute & young cocktail waitress who's wearing an impossibly short mini-skirt - by far the best one so far. I'm in love with this place since I first stepped in yesterday.
*I experience a complete brain fart - with 2 games left on the board, I see that the MLs are unplayable... I then browse the board to find the runlines... nothing. I have to ask the ticket writer to read me the lines - I'm so used to bet dogs that when he tells me 155 and 135, I assume he means +1.5 -155 and +1.5 -135, which would be really good.
*I ask for both dogs on the runline, parlayed (ticket writer asks me to confirm that I want the Brewers and A's - my betting style completely disregards minor details such as who's playing who, so I answer that I do want both +1.5's, which prompts him to say "ooookay"
). I get my ticket and look at it - The Horror! I got -175 & -155, terrible numbers that Pinny beats by over 15 cents each. With my luck though, I'm thinking that the bet will win, just to make me feel even worse. My real bet would've been both faves on the RL, which were priced favorably.
*Call to blittydeuce to set up the next day's meeting. He gets sober me, who is a big ball of nerves and a poor small talker. My filthy French Canadian accent surprises him. Typical.
*Head back downstairs to catch the last few innings of the MIL and OAK games. Both teams win outright and I lucksack my way to a first winning bet.
I dunno whether to celebrate or to bang my head on the table. I do a bit of both.
*We're exactly 3 guys there cashing tickets right after the Brewers win. I collect all of $258.50. I already know what I'm going to do with the winnings - it's been bothering me all day. ~$150 in winnings is good for 2 rounds of 3-play Jacks or Better at Bellagio's minimum stake of $75 a hand. As SlickFazzer would say, LES GO!!!!!!!11

Crappy phone pic of Bellagio's high-limit "slot" area. I'm such a tourist.
*My main goal here is to be offered a drink by the high-limit room's cocktail waitress. I have to pace myself. And by "pace myself", I mean "look busy and pretend to play by tapping the wrong buttons". I play one actual hand in 5 minutes. Loser. I deal a new hand and get two suited high cards, which I hold. I then look over the machine and stare at the cocktail waitress, who gets the message. YES! 30 seconds later, I get my first and only high-roller beer, a Heineken. I feel important.

The hand that gets me a free high-roller beer.
I get a two-pair, which brings me back to where I started - 30 credits. All in all, I will play exactly 8 hands over 20 minutes. I get up from my seat feeling pretty satisfied with myself - after all, I won $8.50 today.
*I'm sort of sad that my Vegas odyssey is already coming to an end - it's been really short. I am coming back on the 16th, but I will have to work out of my hotel room until you clowns get here for the bash. Cool thing is that my work day will end at 5pm ET/2pm PT, so I will be free to do as I please quite early in the day.
I know I promised pics of Canyon Day, but the truth is that the digital pics need much post-processing to become presentable. I will start a photo thread at some point, maybe this weekend.
