Out of all the evidence released, none of it says Pete ever bet against his own team, so really what do I care? As long as there's no tanking, what's the big deal? You should be allowed to bet on yourself. The average athlete/manager/coach is so overconfident, if they let them all bet on their own teams Vegas would just rake in a lot more cash

Rose was a compiler, by that I mean he played 24 seasons, if Jeter hung on for 2 or 2.5 more years he would have caught Rose.
That all time hit king label is a tad deceiving, he averaged 194 hits per season.
Rose was in an All Universe lineup that featured Johnny Bench, Tony Perez, Joe Morgan, Geronimo, George Foster, my God you had no choice but to pitch to Rose.
Let's put that 194 hits per season into perspective, Vladimir in 16 seasons averaged 195 per.
Jeter? Try 204 hits on the average for 20 years. That's 10 more hits per year than Rose.

I can list 20 more players who average more than 194 hits per season, but I won't you get my point.

if he bet on his team to win every game that would be one thing but there were games where he DID NOT bet on his team, that says alot right there, that he wasn't confident in them to win would give a huge edge to whoever was taking his bets, put him in when he is dead
