every sat and sun morning, i take the GF here to GARAGE SALES.. if i tell you what i found there you would not believe me. 2 bird cages for 2$ each..these cages would have cost me 70$ each new.. a vacuum cleaner 4$..(works great) an old couple had about 3,000 hockey cards.. he wanted 10$, i told him i'll give you 3$, he said ok.. inside was gretzky, lafleur, lemieux rookie card, NO JOKE.. but not in mint of course, but if i took out every good card, i can easily make 350$ from that box.

the GF found about 40 beautiful clothing, and jeans, etc all her size.... each at about 60$.. brand names and all hardly worn.. practically new.. we asked how much for the 40 pieces.. they said 2$ each.. we said we'd give you 50$ instead of 80$.. no prob.. the things that all of you guys here can find in a garage sale is incredible..

i know guys that go every sat and sun early.. and buy tons of things and they make a living doing this.. they make like 300$ a week.. they buy sofas for 5 bucks, lampshades for 1$.. all in great condition.. they have a truck and a place to stock all this stuff..

fishler, instead of doing the garbage stuff, just find garage sales and you can make a killing.. they are practically giving stuff for free and all in good condition and you bargain like there's no tmorrow.. these people are desperate to give away this stuff. they are all moving and can't bring it with them and they have no use for them.. or they want to dispose the stuff cause they have no use for them..they will take anything.

I have bought a ton from garage sales and have saved a ton.. do you guys have garage sales in the states every weekend like here.. fishler, you should go to those.. you can make a mint.. things are sooooooooo cheap and they will take any offer you give them..

onner, you can find here about 40 garage sales within a 3 mile radius.. women just sitting on a lawn chair in their driveway all day from 6 am till 8 pm all day sat and sun, too.. just hoping people take all this stuff off them.. they beg a lot.. last week a woman says to us.. come on, there must be something you want here.. here, take this knife, here take this shirt, blue looks really good on you.. here take this toaster.. only 3$.. fine...2$.. just take it..

last week we found this incredible blender retailed at 79$ at walmart for 2$ we paid.. it works like a charm..

if fishler wants things really really cheap and great quality too.. he should go to garage sales. that is where the bargains are.. and all stuff works great, unlike the dumpster.. people are not throwing this stuff, they just have no room for it, or are moving... and they are fukkin desperate and will take anything..

wtf buddy, it's not that i'm poor, i like to get bargains..don't we all love to get bargains.. stuff as new for 2$ instead of 89$.. i don't buy garbage.. i only buy stuff that's practically new.. plus, you all know me by now i love to shop around for the best prices.. why pay 129$ for a fukkin vacuum cleaner when i can pay 4$..

wtf, you can find some amazing deals at garage sales, and all stuff practically new.. if you needed 2 bird cages, would you rather buy from a pet store for 180$.. OR 4$ that look new and have no scratches on em??

dont even compare Ebay to this.. you have to pay about 12$ shipping fee.. plus, i just looked at bird cages.. the same ones i bought for 2$, are 29.99$ on ebay..

so 2 cages at 29.99 each, plus tax and shipping...lets say about 85$..

i paid 4$ instead..


and i know what i'm getting.. i get to see it with my eyes and make sure it's in good shape. with Ebay, you have no idea what you're getting..

i agree 100%.. for things like plasma tv's or electronics, i agree.. i'd rather pay 4k than 50$ for that.. i want new only.

but for stuff like bird cages, they are new and solid. why pay 180$ for 2 cages when i can get the same thing for 4$..


this thread was for fishhead.. i wanted him to know that he don't need to go into garbages to get good stuff. all he has to do is dish out 2$ or 3$ and get the exact same thing, and even in better condition..

NICKY---Cmon, you should know I'm a veteran with garage sales..............have about 5,000 under my belt in my career.

I'm still selling singles from a shoebox of football cards I purchased 20 years ago for $10.............made over $1,000 from that box and still have tons remaining.

I take my Girlfriend to Garage sales on the weekends here as well. It is amazing all the junk people try to sell. I would be ashamed to even try to sell some of the stuff they are selling. I would just toss most of it.

oh so you're into Garage sales?? i had no idea.. i too got a box of 3,000 hockey cards and found some great rookie cards in there..

i swear the GF just got me hooked on them garage sales now.. up until 2 months ago, i don't think i ever attended one.. now i am fukkin hooked on them.. they are awesome and the best thing about them is you never know what you're going to find.. it's an adventure each garage sale..

now i go to about 8 every weekend.. they are all around here.. i check craigslist and go.. i am hooked.. i now look forward to every sat and sun morning.. and i love the bargaining.. last week i spent 16$ and came home with 6 bags of stuff along with blenders, bird cages, vacuum cleaners, espresso machine, and tons of clothes for me and her.. i can't wait till the weekend for this again.. i'm like a kid in a candy store.
