Selling Name and Home Address to Books
Either SBR or BetPhoenix sold my address. These are the only two sports betting related places that had my new address. I moved in March and within the past couple of weeks I have received mailers from SBG Global, Youwager, Oddsmaker addressed to me at the new address.

It is either one of you. I don't think Verizon sold it or direct tv or the bank that holds my mortgage.

I'm sure you will both say it wasn't you. The fact of the matter is was one of you. Why don't one of you save face and be a man and say yes we sold your info? It was in our t&c's and you agreed. Ok, then my bad.

So either SBR or BetPhoenix sells your info when you sign up. F you whoever it was.

Probably PHX, they are a solid book other than the fact they are always calling trying to get deposits

Oddsmaker offer a free $100 no deposit bonus, though. It's not all bad.

SBR or Phoenix selling your name and address for about 10 cents. I'm mad.

          BlueFish,

We would never attempt to sell our most valuable asset. Also, mailing houses use NCOA (National Change of Address) services for anti junk mail compliance. NCOA records held by the US Postal service will update the right address for the right person based on your mail forwarding info.

          Regards,

          Richard

Well Christ. You are saying if I move and fill out a mail forward card, after 5 months old junk mail will be sent to the original sender with my new address? These things weren't forwarded to me.

My last name is 17 letters long. Usually someone misspells it differently. This is how I found out who sold my info when I get the mailers.

Shocked I tell you, shocked that a book sells info for marketing to other books.

                        Say it ain't so.

We would never sell your infor. It is the only real asset in a player we have. The cost of a member or CPA (cost per acquisition) is average $300 to $400 per player.

As far as the NCOA item, you wont see them as forwards, you will just see them show up. There are also 3rd party companies who append data as well to update old information.

What happens usually is some clown low level worker associated with book sells it secretly to thieves or hackers break in and sell them

Never is high level mangement or owner of a book

                              SBR ain't selling anything either

I will have to verify this with the post office. It was explained to me that if I fill out a forward form it is only forwarded for 2 months. I have have to reach out to the party to give them my correct address for future mail to be delivered. Something seems strange that the post office will give these places my new address. They should only be forwarding it.

Knock on wood but I think SBR is one of the very few sites to never sold any database or info and never had it copied or stolen.

Database hackers are a tough group. Databases for sites like forums have become much more secure with the patches and fixes over the past couple of years.

Also a lot of sites negotiate with sportsbook sponsors to give out or allow the books a few shots at the list. The site can "say" they didnt give out your info because they didnt but they did allow the spam. Its a bit dirty.

SBR has never given, sold, loaned, ect, any info in any way what so ever. Its not about being saintly. Its a business and we believe strongly that the best business decision is to protect player info and invest in the means and protocol to keep it secure.

All of my banks and credit card companies changed my address automatically and I'd only given the new address to the post office.

This may be a stupid question since it's been 2.5 years since I signed up at SBR but I don't remember requiring an address or name given to create an account here. Am I right?

I think mofo is doing the same thing across the street. Giving away $100 a day of his own money in a daily contest. The kid doesn't even make $300 a week how the fuk can he give out $100 a day? I think they have to give out their name and address to claim the money on a BetJam transfer. I don't like it JJ.
