#107After the semifinals I was kind of pissed when I realized we'd have to wait until Jan 7th to submit our 4* play for the national championship. With the line movement we've had, that might be a good thing now. I might actually have a shot to win something.Comment -

#110My team has 9 points now. Two other players have 5 each.
Can I still win or tie for last place? Please elaborate on how tie breaker would work if three or four players all have 9 points after final game is over.Comment -

#112Rules state that the closest to the game total without going over is the tie breaker. Of course, that's if you want to move up in the standings, so the opposite would drop you to a lower spot.Originally posted by maritsa1819My team has 9 points now. Two other players have 5 each.

#113But then all players tied for last would pick a high number to "lose" the tiebreaker. I guess the normal tiebraker should apply, closest to the game total without going over would win last place prize. SBR should clarify this case.Comment -

Yes when I won last place a few years ago that was the rule, you actually wanted to do "well" in the tiebreaker. I had the same thought, that if your goal was to finish last you could just auto-lose the tiebreaker by picking the total # of points to be a million. So yeah, if there is a tie for last whoever has the "best" tiebreaker wins that prize.Comment -

#115I didn't want to say anything about the tiebreakers and last place, but since the cats out of the bag, I would pick 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000 0000000 as my total.Comment -

#117Yeah but if both employ that strategy next tiebreaker is amount of 3 Star wins. SO that's the key here. Indeed. But anyway, that's not the rule as I said. Even though the goal is to be "last" when tiebreaking for last, the prize is given to the person with the best total tiebreaker, not the worst one (which makes sense for the reasons just mentioned). So yeah your goal should be to win that tiebreaker not lose it if you are aiming for last place.Comment -

#119OK did not read your post correctly. Thx for clarification. If Clem beats LSU will pick up 1K in points. so will hit you up with at least 400. Thx again.Originally posted by ArunShIndeed. #120I was gonna put infinity as my tiebreaker score if that's how they're going to apply the tiebreaker.
But something tells me they'll probably apply the tiebreaker for last the same way they'd apply it for first. I did PM Drew to get official clarification.
One of the few times I'm happy to suck as bad as I did in picks.Comment -

#121ArunSh is correct, total tiebreaker rules to "win" last place is the same as tiebreaker rules for those in the money, closest without going over wins. If still tied, FEWER 3* wins gets last place prize. Rules are set that way to prevent guys from submitting absurdly high totals.Comment -

One has tiebreaker 72, another tiebreaker 75. Game ends 26-21. Is this tied? or player with 72 is closer and his tiebreaker wins over other player?Comment -
