#72i tip the BJ dealer at the end of my play if I did well. if i do like shit then he/she gets nothing.
i never tip the cage. that is them giving me what i won.
i tip the casino waitresses $5 here and there, depending how thirsty i am, how often i want her to check on me and how sexy she looksComment -

That said, I personally clearly over tip at the casino without even thinking about it.
It's just my way.

I can't believe how many times I've paid $1 for a little bottle of water. Keeps here available for other drinks as well.

#79Poker: usually a dollar or two on a decent size pot. Throw them a bit more if it's a nice sized double up.
Table games: at the end if I win. Maybe a couple dealer bets if I'm doing well.
Craps: after a good session, where I clear a few hundred, I might toss 20 towards the stick man and say "all the hard ways for the dealers for a nickel" . Then I walk away. I don't know if they win.
Drinks: $1/drink $2 drink/free food delivery.Comment -

#81Originally posted by stevek173Not saying which casino but I saw a group of dealers gang up on this guy in the bathroom for not tipping.
Kicked him in the nuts and gave him the old swirlie in the toilet.
It wasn't your typical stingy old man type, it was this pompass rich kid bragging about it.
Then security kicked him out for being all wet/dirty.
Honestly I hated him so it was pretty hilarious.
You really should tip and it's just that simple. Dealers can be cooler than you think. I've had a few tell me multiple things that made me much more money than I was tipping - because I tip well. You sure you didn't see this in a movie?
I dealt BlackJack for a few years when I was in my early 20's. The scenario you are talking about above almost certainly never happened.
This thread as a whole is pretty hilarious. I can't speak for every casino on the planet.... but much of what is being said in this thread is simply not true. I can assure you that dealers aren't risking their jobs to help the players win. Dealers are hinting to players what their hole card is??? REALLY???
When I dealt blackjack we had a machine check the hole cards for us... we never manually looked. Does any casino still even do this?? I get the feeling that there are several posts in this thread from people who have played little to no blackjack at all. As I said... I can assure you that dealers are not risking their jobs to help random strangers win money. If they are... by all means tip them well!!!Comment -

#84JG you nailed it----been gambling forever and posting for over 10 years but I made up a fake blackjack dealer story for no reason at all......G+G gets it....I feel like he is the only one who truly understands in and out's of the tables and has been around long enough to see it all...his info is usually on point as well....

#86Originally posted by marcolocoPlayer Rewards come out of the dealer's pockets?
The concept of the house giving something back to the player for playing, nothing more.
Nobody's talking about the dealer reaching into their personal pocket.

#87imo no reason to tip a dealer for doing their job unless you have an exceptional experience and to me that is when i win of course. i also have tipped if the dealer was personable and made the game move along quickly. forgot to mention that part.Comment -

#97i was a caddy in college
company outings added the tip in the fee
we had to tell those guys after 18, your tip was included by company
but they are put in a weird place, so tip extra because their round was free anyway
tipping should be banned
one day i made about $600 because a company paid group didnt show (i got to keep their caddy fee plus tip), then i took another caddy's company group plus an extra tipComment -
