    What Tainted Championship?
I waited a day before I posted this just because I wanted to see how many asinine threads would be started about how the Red Sox Championships are now tainted. My answer is they are simply not tarnished in ANY way. Here is how. Any baseball fan will tell you that if they released that full list today, there would be a smattering of players from EVERY team on it. To say the Red Sox (or Yankees for that matter) are any more guilty than lets say the Cardinals or the Cubs from that era is absurd. You cannot put an asterik on the championships won in the mid 90's to the mid 2000's. There was a level playing field. A field that was awash in steroid use, but a level one at that. Now if anyone says that the Red Sox 2 best hitters were on roids, and that makes all the difference, all I need to say is DUH!! Of course the BEST ballplayers at that time were on roids! Once again, would any of you be surprised if you found out the best ballplayer from the era on your favorite team was on roids? I doubt it. When the Yankees players were found to be on the juice, I found it funny, but NEVER said they should put an asterik next to their championships or ever thought that their wins were tainted. When EVERYONE is doing it, it makes EVERYTHING equal. The next Yahoo that says otherwise will be eligible for POTM (Putz Of The Month).

The only legitimate championships in MLB are the 15 consecutive NL East championships by the Atlanta Braves. There has never been an Atlanta Braves player ever even remotely being accused or associated with steroids. Hell No! We never had a player weighing more than 200 lbs.

I didn't see any. Were there any?

      Maybe I missed them

I saw a couple media people throw it out there as a half-assed philosophical point - filling time - and then pretty much dismiss it.

The rest of your point is obviously right but I feel like you're disputing an argument that no one (above the intellectual level of a parsnip) is really seriously making.

Mudder, there are a couple. I also find that the media (print and television) has made this "tainted" point.

As I Giants fan I do have to chuckle, as the Red Sox fans continue to cheer their teams' player after steroid use has been uncovered, while just a few years ago they and everyone else crucified the Giants' fans for cheering Barry Bonds even after his steroid use came to light.

Even more so with the Dodgers and Manny They gave us soooooo much shit about Bonds
