#213A lot of talk about a black guy hitting a white guy and not about a black guy intervening in defense of his white teammate.
The hit that Pouncey witnessed on his teammate enraged the big man and He went off on Garrett. No race issue there.
As for suspension's... simple who did the swinging.Comment -

#218the closest thing in hockey to what we just saw here in the NFL, would be the mcsorley slash vs brashear in 2000. mcsorley was suspended the final 24 games of the season, and ultimately suspended one year. he never played in the NHL again.Originally posted by thomorinoAgree if this happened in hockey it would be a 4 game suspensions and no one would care. btw, he went through a criminal trial in Canada over this incident and was found guilty.
so for you to minimize this and say hockey would only get 4 games, is just flat out wrong.

The Donald Brashear-Marty McSorley Incident was an incident that occurred in the National Hockey League (NHL) with Marty McSorley and Donald Brashear on February 21, 2000 in a game between the Vancouver Canucks and the Boston Bruins. During the game, Brashear was involved in a fight with Marty McSorley. Brashear won the fight and on his way to the penalty box, he taunted the Bruins bench. Later in the game, Brashear collided with Bruins goaltender Byron Dafoe, who had to be taken off on a...Comment -

Where’s all the outrage now?Originally posted by KermitCall me crazy, but I don't think the NFL wants to have it's players be seen on live television using an opposing player's helmet as a weapon against them.
If he would have just tore his helmet off, no big deal, we seen it happen before, but hitting the guy over his unprotected head with it?
Then you have these dumbass players for the Steelers punching the guy in his helmet like that is going to do anything except hurt their own hands.

This happens in football. That doesn't make it right but in a sport that operates without the transcripts of law, this is one of those cases. This will be handled by football folks!
In other words, the NFL will look the other way because it's not the fukking Browns and they don't want to fukk over their beloved LA team.Comment -

ESPN reports that the NFL has zero jurisdiction over camps and practices.
I think it's up to the team to hand down a punishment.
It's not that the NFL is looking the other way, although I see your point, but it's that it's just not their place. Probably in the CBA, or a deal with the teams and NFL.Comment -

#244I guess to that I can only think that the NFL does get involved when there are outside legal issues.Originally posted by Mac4LyfeSo, then how do they have jurisdiction over Watson getting hand jobs from IG THOTS setup by the Texans?
But we all know stuff happens on the court, field, pitch, ice, etc that really is above the law. It's not often players sue others for a fight. They don't usually turn into legal issues.
I suppose the practices are somewhere in the middle. Not exactly in game, but still on the field, in the confines of camp.
I wouldn't be surprised if there are fights we don't know about during camp and even preseason. Probably nothing happens for those.
But swinging helmets should be a punishment by the team, but maybe since nobody's skull was crushed they'll let it go.
Team punishment probably not going to be a suspension, it's Donald, but maybe LA fines him. And maybe they only fine him because of optics...becuause it was on video everywhere.Comment -
