OT - Best GSM cell provider in the SW USA

Just unlocked my Blackberry so it can take SIM cards from any provider - planning to use a prepaid SIM while I'm down in NV, AZ and CA. Much cheaper than the extortionate fees my provider wants to charge for roaming in the US.

What would be the best choice, Verizon?

I don't think Verizon is GSM, they're CDMA or whatever CDMA is calling itself these days. You'll need to go with AT&T Wireless for GSM coverage in Northern California, they're the only option here, and I'm sure they cover all the other places you'll be as well.

Thanks RS - I thought it was all GSM in the US. My phone is actually a hybrid version working on Bell's/Telus CDMA network right now. CDMA is ASS.
