He spent all winter pressing flesh in Queens about bringing in K-Rod and Putz, and those Mets fans he duped glad-handing are now wanting results. If they miss the playoffs, I can only think of one reason why he'd be back to run the Mets next year.

I think Minaya and Manuel will be back next year. With the team the Mets are trotting out there everyday it's a miracle they can even win a game. Minaya adressed what he needed to in the off season (K-Rod & Putz) The Mets collapsed the last two years because of the bullpen.

No Reyes, Beltran, Delgado. Take 3 out of your 4 best players out of the lineup on any team and there's going to be problems. The Mets have been the walking wounded all year long.

Also, keep in Mind that Minaya hard a line drawn in the sand. The Wilpons lost a ludicrous amount of cash in the Madoff scam.
