Make sure to inform him about Matchbook, SBR, and myself.

ps- Most financial advisors are full of crap and clueless.......that is why they are working. The working man is a sucker.

Actually I am on track a little more than I thought...Going to become a little more aggressive with Mutual funds and some stocks. Also need to start a Roth IRA and get some disability insurance in case I can't work.

Blai meeting his financial advisor is like jj meeting his hair stylist: there really won't be much to say.

But agreed with others that financial advisors are morons, and basically like touts. If they understood finance properly they wouldn't be robuts sitting at desks for $15/hr advising barreled in fukks like blai.

I was a certified financial planner for nearly 6 years and yes there a lot of goofs but also a lot of real pros that will definitely help. Look out for the guys that simply advise solutions that make THEM the most commissions.

                    How can you tell?

You wanna deal with someone that takes the time to understand your needs and objectives. Someone who takes the time to understand what's important to you and who will tailor fit a plan to meet your needs.

There are dozens of products he can suggest. One might be perfect for you but not for your buddy next door. Look for an agent that will listen, explain and recommend. Deal with a solid company of course.

Also, most financial planners can do business with any financial institution and it can be tempting to put the business through a somewhat lower rated company that pays a higher commission.

I remember cases where I could have placed the business through an A+ company and made $3000 or placed if with a lower rated firm and made $7000. It can be that tempting and I have seen first hand, salesman that only place the business to companies that pay the most commissions.

Financial advisors are only good if they make it to national television as a celebrity.........then they have accomplished something in their personal life.

If they don't, most will live to know they destroyed many lives with their worthless advice.

Like any business. Good and bad mechanics, bookies, sportsbooks, cops etc etc.

                        Most people understand that.
