He's done a lot of great work. Hard to go wrong with a lot of his movies. If you liked Turino, you'll like the Sanction. His movies have his fingerprint on them.. they are usually quality and class.

The Dirty Harry movies are all good. His westerns were great. As you can tell I'm a big Clint Eastwood guy. Take a day and watch the westerns and another day to watch Dirty Harry movies. There are others too...he's made a bunch of great films.
"Go ahead, make my day", "A Mans got to know his limitations..." etc.etc.

great points by BH
you'll love some of the one-liners in the Sanction. the black flight attendant whose name is Jemima.. the cold-blooded sanction-giver who has problems with the light ... some of the lines in that movie are just plain fvcking awesome. and Eastwood delivers them in such matter of fact manner.... it's some funny shit

I thought it was good when I saw it in the theater also. The plot kind of dragged on a little but the ending tied it all together for sure. Just some of Clint's lines during the whole movie make it worth seeing - he plays that kind of part better than anyone!

If you haven't seen Unforgiven, I'd start with that. It's a Western but it has some of the same plot points as Gran Turino. After that I'd tell you to check out the Dollars trilogy - Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, and The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. Another great one is The Outlaw Josey Wales.
I never much cared for Westerns until I started watching Clint Eastwood movies. Now I love them. Another Western I love is Hombre with Paul Newman. That one is written by Elmore Leanord who many don't know was an acomplished author of Western's before he got in the "Get Shorty" and "Jackie Brown" type crime comedies. Love Elmore Leanord. If anyone is into novels you gotta read anything and everything by Elmore Leanord.

unforgiven FOR SURE!!
all his old stuff is pretty great, but might be a bit boring to the younger crowd because of the different cinematography and lack of special effects.. but i am sure clint will hook ya if you give him half a chance..
but again.. WATCH UNFORGIVEN.. really good!

I agree with you Jello on Hombre [superior acting through out]and Unforgiving ,[solid acting and believable story !]
However, personally I never could get into obvious fiction like those other films you mention, entertaining .but also rather silly .
There was a great Western made in the early 50's,Winchester 73,I believe, starring James Stewart[outstanding actor]
And one of the "best" character actors ever,Dan Duryea
But they had a scene in that movie that was so unbelievable it practically ruined the movie for me !
They have this shootout with these ,"hot" at the time, Winchesters, and it comes down to two men at the end of the contest,Stewart and another fellow.
They had this silver dollar ,I think, they would throw it high in the air and each man would have "one" shot to hit that dollar !
They must have been awful good because they just couldn't miss that target.
At one point the other shooter shoots a hole clean through the middle of the silver dollar !
Then Stewart takes his shot, and,he evidently misses ?
No wait !
Stewart claims his shot went clean through the middle hole in the dollar, the same hole that was made by his opponent ?
Now the controversy gets so riled up ,..they actually put a postage stamp over that hole that is dead center of that dollar! Whew!
Okay, now it's the opponents turn to shoot, and he nicks the inside of the coin .Whew!
Now ,with a new stamp covering that hole, they fling that same coin high up in the air again...Stewart takes his shot ,and guess what?
He puts a clean shot right through the middle of that stamp, not touching any side of the coin !
Jimmy wins !WoW !
That must be the most outrageous event in all of Movie History, well, for a serious movie it has to be !

Enjoyed the movie but it was almost unbearably slow at times.

I love Clint Eastwood. Will see this movie now that it is on DVD. Didn't realize it was such a great movie. I mainly liked his older work.
