He was voted the best soccer player of the 20th Century by FIFA. He was the Babe Ruth of soccer and probably could walk to any place in the US and noone would know who he was. He scored 84 goals in 85 international games and 514 goals in 529 games which is unheard of for modern players. Averaged almost a goal per game in his career.

          The first Galactico.

Not many know this but his team was exiled from Hungary and went to Rio de Janeiro. He was so good they still have his statue at the Maracana.

How many times did he dive and hold his ankle crying like a baby and then getting up 2 secs later with a clean bill of health?

ferenc puskas was perhaps the greatest player ever and the sad fact was he never played in the 1954 final otherwise GERMany would have been whipped

Everyone knows Pele and Maradonna but those who really love football know Puscas is up there with them, another one of those lesser known legends is Eusebio.

Puskas made Hungary one of the Best Natl teams in the world in the 50s , they made it to the final in 54 and have i think one of the longest undefeated runs in history if Im not mistaken

George Best was also another legend. There are so many to list. Garrincha was great and Eusebio may have been the best center forward.

Garrincha was the unsung hero of those Brazil great teams , is bad that he died homeless in the streets of Brazil

He was that good at a time when sports medicine was nothing near what it is today and an injury could've cost you your career.
                              This guy was unbelievable!
He also coached for some time. He led the Greek team Panathinaikos to the European Cup finals in 1971 where he lost to Ajax (where the great Johan Cruyff played).
