Let me start by saying I think you have done a great job Hman since you have been here, and I truly mean that. Before you were here we had mods who handed out infractions and bans based on personal views and bias.
When this stuff went down with funnyb I think you were new here and I'm not sure whether you were moderating at that time so I just want to clarify some things.
Funnyb meticulously fudged his record in several ways by shaving units (as in instead of losing -115 he would calculate it as -105), counting half wins as full wins (like with soccer bets with totals that are over 2.5,3), calculating a 2 unit win as a 3 unit win, etc. That is not a moment of weakness like someone running bad and saying "aw I'm not going to count that one", that is a consistent calculated way of misleading people. At that time he did not keep a spreadsheet so it would have been very difficult to track his numbers. Granted with so many bets and numbers flying around mistakes could be made, but they were always in his favor except one I found that hurt his record by a little.
He was the most viewed poster in players talk and of course caught the attention of real bettors because of his seemingly great record. I lost 27k tailing him. That's right, 27 thousand dollars. I could have lost it faster or slower, but I would have lost it eventually because I was tailing funnyb's plays. I have said many times that is on me, I am the one who didn't spend hours verifying his record prior to betting and I am the one that placed the bets. I mistakenly assumed since someone isn't touting there is seemingly nothing to gain by lying.
I exposed his fudging in a thread and he denied attacked denied attacked denied until he could no longer. Then he posted that apology thread. I and many others forgave him and accepted the apology. He promised to keep a spreadsheet and not fudge anymore.
After this heartfelt apology he eventually got down 100 units on the new spreadsheet. He decided to delete it. Not cool. He was called out on it. No apology.
He went on a winning streak for a couple of days so decided to start another spreadsheet and retroactively include the winning streak. Not cool. He was called out on it. No apology.
He was running out of ways to claim he was a great capper so he started running around touting his video plays record. I researched that and found through post history that from the beginning it was started dishonestly. His first actual video play boasted a record of I believe it was 7-1 with no record of those first 8 plays as video plays. Not cool. No apology.
This all happened after heartfelt apologies and promises. He never apologized for the more recent shenanigans. He was in full no shame mode by then.
A lot of these clown defenders and allies of funnyb don't bet a dime or very little. They see it as me "bullying" or "trolling", but it isn't. I did not post that recent deleted post to troll or bully. Any time funnyb starts getting attention or grows a following I will make sure any new posters or lurking viewers know about him. Personally I think anyone with his history should have the one ounce of dignity it takes to not post spreadsheets and threads full of plays but I can't and you guys won't stop him.
I know now he gets great satisfaction out of attention and positive feedback on here. That's not necessarily wrong, but he has consistently demonstrated he will lie about his record to do it. Sure, everyone knows most touts do that sort of thing, but when funnyb does it that's especially dangerous because he isn't asking for anything, so the mark's defenses are down. I have no doubt that if funnyb started becoming the superstar capper on here he loves so much to be, he will find ways to keep that superstar capper status.
I find it strange that a website claiming to be a watchdog for gamblers would turn around and protect someone like him from someone else posting the truth about his tendencies. Can it really be trolling if it's the truth and pertinent to what he's posting?
Why the protection for him? Is he paid to post plays and drum up business for advertisers? That would be a shame if so because I have been told several times and have the records of staff stating SBR does not have paid posters.
I really don't see the harm in me alerting readers to his history every once in awhile. The posters who don't care about it shouldn't care I posted about it, and the new readers and actual bettors will be glad I did.
