#38Nothing by this weekend. The state opens it up Aug. 15th, but each casino might be different. It's a small casino, but it does have a poker room. It usually only has a couple tables going. Mostly 1/2 NL. Sometimes a 2/5 NL on weekends. Pretty fishy. During the day it is usually nittty old-timers. Sometimes there are a couple truck drivers that stop by off the interstate. During the weekends it can get juicy. The food isn't the best, but they have a buffet and a steakhouse. Plus Burger King and Subway for quick eats. Nothing fancy. I haven't been there in awhile though, so things might have changed a bit.

#41Let me clarify, FanDuel and Draft Kings both will for sure be legal from a Daily Fantasy perspective, this has been outlined and passed. Not positive if they'll be offering books for bettings and/or which casino might have them.Originally posted by tblues2005Thank you. I had no idea. Thus those two will probably be the best overall in Iowa unless a casino goes independent????Comment -

#56We'll have to meet up Chuck.
Iowa's population is probably too small for it to bring in too much revenue, and it will be mostly small time $20 bettors. Their might be a few heavy hitters though, if they can get the $$ down. Iowans love to gamble, especially on sports.
A lot of the revenue will come from neighboring states since most of the casinos are located on the borders or interstates.Comment -

#69The casinos themselves are all smoking. For those casinos that have them, the poker rooms are non-smoking. A few of the books (smaller ones) will be merged into the sports bars, so that might make a difference. No clue really.Originally posted by Otters27Anyone know if the sportsbooks will be non smoking?Comment -
