Its actually pretty common over here. And then they go back to work the next day business as usual. The elected officials The argument in this one was about a law being passed without having met the required passing vote percentage.

The other thing thats crazy is when these protesters throw tocks or worse and battle with the riot control police, in most cases its the involuntary police force that the civilians fight with - their own sons and brothers. Its mandatory for all males to serve around 3years government service, and its basically unpaid, the military get only like 20,00won ($15) a month pay, food and haircuts are provided

More recently with clashes with the police, the civilians were throwing maltese cocktails at the police, was all on tv, buildings caught fire. Police only using water hoses. Some protesters killed in the fire, and the families of the protesters killed are suing for compensation. Unreal.

They protest quite often here and in some ways it really is a good thing, whether it be over an unlawful wage dispute or a company selling a defective product.
