Taking money to vegas

Are you a member of AAA?

If not you should be, it is a GREAT VALUE for the 50-60 bucks a year!

They offer members FREE travelers checks.

Another option is to have a BANK OF AMERICA account. They are practically everywhere in America, and plentiful in Vegas.

Lastly, if your taking just cash, get all hundreds or higher............and be constantly aware of your money. I have taken this much before and just keep it in my front pocket. I seldom worry about it.

I have found it best to just take cash with me, Biff. I tried using a check once and it was a big pain with getting it validated. You can always get a check for your winnings going back so don't worry about having to put lots of cash in your shoes or anything like that.

Mentally and emotionally, I also found it better to have the cash on me. When you go into a casino with a check, there's just this feeling about it I have like you've already lost the money and are starting out in the hole. One of those "out of sight, out of mind" things I guess. When I am on the plane heading there and have the cash on hand, I can keep feeling up that cash in pocket and being a lot more psyched when I get there.

AAA doesn't offer traveler checks anymore, I just tried to get some last week.

Get casino credit.30 days to pay back interest free.The best way to go.

I have $2000-$4000 credit lines at several hotels(Hilton,Palms,Planet Hollywood,Golden Nugget,Silverton).I still bring $4000/$5000 per trip,but its nice to know you don't have to bring 10k.I haven't even used my credit the past 7-8 trips,but it is good to have.

Cash or wire it to Casino cashier. It is easy to carry 20K/4 packs (5000) of 100s in front pockets.

I had to do exactly that once. Actually fits pretty easily.

I don't see how anyone can give you problems for taking cash to Vegas. That's what it's for, for ****s sake.

you must know the laws.. transferring money of 10k or more across state lines is a no-no.. well.. you can do it, but you MUST have proof with you about how you got the cash (i.e. you have a withdrawl statement with you from your bank)..

no proof and they can take it from you and hold it 'til you provide proof..

just wire the money to the casino.. or take checks.. i have no problem cashing $1k checks anywhere.. they check your credit rating and instantly offer a line for you.. even if your bank account is -0-..

plus! if you wire it, you will be on their radar.. you might get comp'ed or upgraded when you check in..

good luck and stop telling people how much you are gonna take... remember! people here have been known to borroew money from other posters.. and they KNOW you will have cash! LOL

You're kidding right?

If it's a domestic flight, you don't even have to declare it. I've flown to and from Vegas with more than 10k on me plenty of times (and lots of other people have also).

If you fly internationally, you have to declare it. As long as you fill out the form though, you're fine.
