    OT: Watched Scarface Last Night
I watched Scarface last night. A buddy of mine came over and he'd been telling me I have to watch it and how good it was and stuff. And after recently watching Goodfellas this past summer I was excited. I thought Scarface was a mob movie not sure why I thought that. Anyway, I though it was pretty good but not one of the greatest all of time. I didn't care much for the character of Tony Montana....thuoght he was a paranoid sociopath. I know my friend likes him a lot though. I liked his sidekick Manny though...reminded me a lot of myself: suave, nice talker, good with the ladies, etc...

Within the past two years I've just started to catch up on movies so there a lot of movies I've missed...growing up, I didn't watch many and instead focused on sports and have begun to use my God given talent in sports betting.

Anyway, a lot of down time coming up since I won't be seriously betting again till late August.

So what are the good movies that I need to watch....

Your sport handicapping talent may be God given, but your parents had something to do with it as well, so don't forget to call Mom on Mother's Day, and also send her flowers for her birthday.

If you've really been focused on your talents for many many years and haven't seen the movie Shawshank Redemption starring Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman I recommend that one, there are also some football scenes in the movie, but just amateur football.

Or if you're just trying to kill time until August 1st, you could watch Gone With The Wind 1,330 consecutive time between now and then.

The entire Thin Man series from the 30s with William Powell and Myrna Loy (hubba-hubba). Nick Charles, Powell's character in the series, is the epitome of suave, nice talker, good with the ladies, etc.

Nice list. But three big oversight's that I couldn't help but notice immediately:

Firstly, while Fargo is certainly a very good movie, I'd personally replace with just about any other Coen Brothers' movie (excepting their last two pieces of crap). Hudsucker Proxy, Miller's Crossing, Barton Fink. and Big Lebowski all immediately come to mind.

Secondly, you can't put together a list like this without at least one Charlie Kaufman movie. Just add in any of Being John Malkovich, Adaptation, or Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and I'd be happy.

And thirdly, you really need a Woody Allen movie in there.

Right on. Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex...But Were Afraid to Ask and Bananas are classics, would start there if you haven't watched any of the Wood Man's flicks.

Not really sure what your kind of movie is, GV, but I'd highly recommend it. I mainly went to see it because it had one of my favorite singer-songwriters in the mix, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, and I was curious how he'd come off on screen. Turned out to be one of my favorite movies all-time.

Thanks guys....i have already requested some of the movies you guys suggested. Looking foward to them....

I saw Big Lebowski this past Spring and really am confused by what all the commotion is about...i also saw Raising Arizona and same thing. All got good reviews and yet I did not like them...it's probably me if everyone liked them except me.

                                  Thanks again....

Same with me when it comes to Pulp Fiction. That is a very popular movie and I know a lot of folks who really liked it, but it just didn't do anything for me. Dif'rent strokes for dif'rent folks, as the saying goes.
