For me, October 1992. Remenyik Open. As an unranked nobody, I beat the #1 fencer in the US - Jim Carpenter 5-3, 5-3. (He later came back from repechage - the loser's bracket - to knock me out and win the tournament).

I took down a ranked National Master rated ~2300 as a 1600 Chess player at the National Open in the mid 80s.

I was then treated as a God by the other chess players in my club.

According to the odds sheets, this only happens once in 10,000 games.

I'm in good shape now. I'm running a 10k this weekend.

In the early 90's, I spent 20 hours a week fencing, and was running another 30 miles a week, and competing on the weekends. All this while in law school. I peaked out at #19 (I think, but it's been so long).

Honestly the day I was in the hospital and they handed my daughter to me , was the day my life changed forever . Thats when I realized she was a part of me flesh and blood and I have done my best to give her a good life.
