There are a lot of issues that are involved in this....I am not going to get into them all but You should look at the facts of each case. There are laws that pertain to each case that made them special and the way they are.

In each case the people were probably given the sentence they deserved....

I like dogs no more than the next person....but there are a lot of circumstances that people wan to ignore in each case...that is all I am saying.

If what Vick did could be classified as a "mistake" I would be more forgiving. What he did, though, was more of a "lifestyle." He spent over a decade building a freakin' empire on dog fighting.

And when it comes to comparing dogs to people, I can dig your point. No comparison, human lives are a hundred times more precious than dog lives. But Vick grew up in America, where dogs have a special place in millions and millions of families. Those families can't stomach anyone being so cruel to the animals that they keep in their own homes like members of the family.

If he'd been into cockfighting, he woulda got away with a fine.
