If you are going to lie...omit the truth>>> Your quote>>>I pulled up to a yield sign and saw the cop(yea, a cop) but I had plenty of room so I just went. <<<<Right there..sounds like you did fail to yield even if its been since "84" for you getting a ticket.

        hoopster,

any municipal/city court in new jersey that i've been to (many) always had a prosecutor to talk to if you can get their attention before court starts, usually its the lawyers who are busy making deals with them, but one can do it without legal aid

the thought of hiring an attorney to speak to the prosecutor/DA for a minor traffic violation seems backwards ass to me

THE best way to beat this thing in total is to get the cop to lie in court

get the officers name who wrote the ticket

find someone who knows the officer, family, friends, other cops that you know, and 'convince' the officer that he should let this one go

when on trial in front of the judge the cop changes his tune and says that he was mistaken and the violator did yield. charges are dropped, case closed

stop being a ****ing pussy over a couple of points on your record. fight the ticket or pay it. If your going to fight about it say you did yield and the officer was a douchebag. I'm sure the judge deals with douchebags everyday and is quiet use to having dick cocks pull good people over...I mean it is traffic court.

You guys act like its an act of god, more than likely you will need to file an appeal. Because usually your first go around is just part of the farm system.

I went in to sign up for the driving school. That semi squashes the ticket at least keeps off the points I was told. Its an extra $110, probably worth it. But I dont have time to take a driving class right now so I just dropped the $170 under the bullet proof glass and got the heck out of there before I got in any more trouble.

Thanks for all of the advice. All the ideas involved time that I just didnt want to dedicate.

This was the word back in the days in LA. Never tried it.

Say you decide to fight a ticket. Court date is set. Call in sick as late as possible. No big deal. They'll just move on to the next case, and a new date will be set, but your cop will be there for nothing. On the rescheduled date do the same thing. Cop will be there for nothing again. Third time you go. Cop may not be stupid enough to show up a third time. If he's not there, you win.

Johnny how come you did come to the SBR law student.

#1. The cop might not even show up. I would say there is a 25% chance of that happening. Cops hate court just like everyone else does.

#2. If he does show up you will have to argue facts. The good thing is that debating something with a cop is that if you do it right you can make em look like Burt Reynolds on the SNL version of Jeopardy.

#3. I dont know much from the facts but here's what I would argue.

If he actually said, "brake with both feet." Did he actually brake with both feet. If not, Does he commonly mistate facts or over exaguate? You have to discredit him if his answer is no.

If yes, is he aware that it's dangerous to do so?

Next establish your good driving history. you have never cut anyone off before and been charged, why now?

Establish the cops poor driving history if he has one. Has he been in accidents? Has he recieved any tickets?

Was the cop multi tasking while driving? alot of these guys are on the computer while driving. was he at the end of a long shift? blah blah blah. you need more lines of questioning then PM me.
