What are your takes on Schmidt's first start in over two years? Will it be successful or a bust?

Schmidt's signing will go down as one of the worst in Ned Colleti's regime. BUT I give Schmidt tons of credit for credit for trying to come back. He could have easily taken the money and packed it in but he's worked two years to get back to the majors. Monday night he gets a chance to pay the Dodgers back a little bit.

            I hope he does well.

I am hoping he lays an egg, because I am a Reds fan. Maybe not him, but hopeful for a Reds W

The Reds aren't hitting well right now---they haven't hit all season.

And what better place to throw your first start than L.A. stadium, right?

I have not decided if I am going to bet him . It is a late game and still gathering info.

Schmidt went 2-0 with a 4.18 ERA in six appearances -- five starts -- for Triple-A Albuquerque this season. In 32.1 innings Schmidt gave up 35 hits but only walked 7 and struck out 25. So his K/BB ratio is nice. He's giving up a lot of hits but to a weakly offensive club like the Reds this might not be so bad. WHIP was 1.30 so not terrible, but then again that's in Triple A.

Dodgers fit my system play so I bet on them. Not too thrilled about it but whatever. Owings is coming off a brutal performance and Dodger bats hit him pretty well (Furcal, Loney and Kemp in particular).
