Lakerboy, at first I thought about getting in touch with Ganch to answer this mathematical inquiry. But what the hey, I thought I can probably handle this one so why bother him?

There is a column on the main forum listing page titled POSTS on the far right, and another one titled THREADS just to the left of it. What you do is divide the POSTS by the THREADS to get an average post count per thread in a specific forum. At this time, I see 71,302 threads and 1,144,365 posts. So that means there is an average of 16.049 posts per thread in Players Talk.

As for taco, the last 50 threads he has initiated have averaged 19.06 posts. So it's obvious we should get tacomax to start more threads.

Some tips for guys worried about the number of responses they get:



Suck up to the postaholics.

Talk about sex.

Post things that are so incredibly stupid that people can't resist correcting you. Use variations of these formulae:

[name of average athlete who is having a good week] is the greatest player of all time - period.

[name of beloved all-time great who had a so-so last couple games] is the most over-rated athlete of all time - bar none.



There are more tips but start with these and soon you will be creating noise-for-the-sake-of-noise like a paid poster!

I average about 257.5 posts per thread I start. Some of the threads I started have more than a dozen pages of posts. I found out the more posts I make in a thread I start the more other posters participate. And none of the posts I start have any ghosts of mine in the same thread (Willie can verify). I also don't need to PM my buddies to post in my threads.

Mudcat is the best in starting a thread about nothing and turning it into something.
