Klay and Iguadala are two of the best defenders that Harden will face in the Western conference. No one can stop Harden, let's be straight on that, but you'll find a pattern with him, that if you make him work, his legs give out late in games, and late in series'. Fatigue is not something Dantoni understands. He ran Kobe into the ground when Kobe was 35 years old and led the NBA in scoring. He was playing him 42 minutes a night. Harden the same. Dantoni does not know what he's doing.
Durant is a nightmare matchup for these guys. PJ Tucker is a bum, and that will be displayed throughout this series. Curry and Thompson still have barely even gotten going in these playoffs, and this is just a very bad thing for GS. I don't see the likes of Chris Paul and Eric Gordon being able to stay with those two. There's just no way. Paul will have a couple nice games this series, but this is Curry's time.
I would hope that the Warriors go small and start Livingston or Iguadala. F Andrew Bogut or Looney. I don't know what Kerr will do, but that'd be the smart choice considering if they do that, everyone on the court save for Curry will be able to check Harden in a 1 on 1 scenario.
The good thing about Houston's iso ball is they don't turn the ball over that much. Naturally, when you're not making passes. I would venture to say Houston has the least amount of passes per game in the NBA by far. Harden's little lob to Capella is an easy play to defend and the Warriors out of every team know exactly how to defend it.
The Warriors know this is the championship. It's weird to say that a 2nd round matchup is the NBA Championship, but it kind of is. Warriors focus level will kick up a knotch as a result. At the end of the day, I just see Curry and Thompson being too much for Eric Gordon and Chris Paul. That's what this series is gonna come down to. Curry is going to have one of the best series' of his career imo.
And don't forget who the best player on the court is in closing time.... That 7 footer who scored 95 points in his last 2 playoff games on like 60% shooting.
