Wow.
I don't know that there is any other way to start this article other than w-o-w, and no, we are not talking about the abbreviation for popular massive online role-playing game World of Warcraft. We are talking about WOW; did you see what Sforz just did? Here's a guy, who is not widely regarded as a poker savant, that literally came out of nowhere to capture his first SBR Poker Championship. Sforz, an SBR forum chat regular, literally emerged from a black hole inside a pit of poker nothingness to make a name for himself. Saying that this guy came out of left field to steal this Championship would be doing a disservice to Ted Williams.
Let's take a look at the star-studded final table that was filled with SBR forum regulars:
1) Sforz
2) fishaholictaz
3) Scratch
4) kidk
5) milwaukee mike
6) linglingfool
7) ijustwant2bpaid
8) nosnibor11
9) Rogue Juror
11) CrazyLou *
Although not technically a final tabler, CrazyLou enhanced his reputation as one of the best SBR forum poker players by coming up just short of his third final table. It should be noted that with 3200 chips in the pot, CrazyLou moved in for 7000 preflop with AKc and was called by J10 unsuited preflop. Milwaukee mike proved yet again why luck is better than skill as he continued on with his typical fortituous run utilizing his aggressive and illogical style of play.
However, the final table was a great one, and contained an epic battle of wits between Sforz and fishaholictaz, money changed hands more than it does after hours on a Harlem sidestreet, and the audience was certainly appreciative of that.
Congrats to ALL final tablers, huge congrats to SFORZ, and good going Milwaukee Mike for eliminating both VegasDave and CrazyLou, capturing 2/3 of the bounties offered!
