4 reasons:
1. Tigers are the worst post all star break team last 5 years, no one else even comes close to their dimsal record.
2. Yankees are the best post all star break team last 5 years (by W/L, not by ROI)
3. French is an unknown to the public
4. Its a Friday game, just after the all star break in NY. The public is jumping on the Yankees bandwagon. Yankee games at home on the weekens almost always have inflated lines.
The public is all over this one. Unfortunately, they are wrong. The play here is a parlay of Detroit +185 and the UNDER, should pay +500. French looked great last time out and his minor league record is stellar. Research shows that minor league pitching stats are a reliable predictor of major league performance.

French just out-tossed Greike, watch it before placing wagers.

I'm leaning Yankees -1.5 in this one, after getting swept in Anaheim, they will light the score board up tonight.

It seems everyone asks this same question every day and the answer is always the same:
Because they are the Yankees!

Why is the best team in the league over -200 tonight?
Hmm, will need to think that one over and get back to you.
That's like asking "why are the Astros dogs every night?".

The best team in the league got swept in their last series. And the Tigers swept them last year in New York.
This is why you are a square Lou. You see the name Yankees on a card and automatically assume is easy money. If you played all Yankees games this year on ML you would be down money.

The question was phrased improperly. It should have been: "Why is the best team in the league with a starting pitcher who sucks going up against a pitcher who is stellar -200?"

Good value on the Tigers in my opinion. Public always bets the Yankees so there line is always inflated. Burnett has been very good lately going 4-1 with a 1.34 era last 5 outings. Will probably put a small play on the Tigers tonight.

Yankees struggle more often then not against pitchers they've never faced before. However, Burnett has been lights out. I would lean on the Yanks on the RL but no action for me.

I have to agree with the guys on this thread. I think that the Yanks are laying way too much juice here. I like the Tigers myself but too scared to play it...

Yankees take 2 of 3 from the Tigers, or possibly sweep.
