its been an issue with the old school management guys not being able to understand how the interface and marketing options could grow the client pool and bring in extra advertising and sponsorship $. Guys like Bill, John, and Shannon just didn't think like you have to think in the quick and increasingly micro digital content craving international potential client pool. The lack of understanding how software developers, coders, Netmarketing, graphic designers operate, communicate and thrive had been a HUGH roadblock for a long time. And the middle management couldn't effectively channel the communications from top down or bottom up. It was a cluster fuk.
There were at times a real language barrier and then also the culture/generational language barrier. Things are starting to become more agile and product development model based then an old school 1990's punch the clock production based methodology with the influx of some management leaders that are from outside the "gambling world" as what we are doing as a whole company for 95% of us has very little to do with sports or gambling for us.
Its nice if we know something about it, but for most of the cubicle talent that is cycling through, they don't know shit about it and they don't NEED to know shit about it. Its computer screens and the ability to translate vague directives into functioning software interfaces. It was an impediment for the various levels of management to really be connected at all to the online gambling scene, as invariably that meant they were inflexible and more akin to an old school forumville type like Mofo, Raiders, Journeyman, Rainbow, Willie bee ect, that have very little to do with the vision or mission statements of the current group.
Its still a horrible remote location and its frustrating for most of our top coding talent that they can't just work from home. But little things like just having group "meetings" which these types typically abhor has led to good listening "gripe sessions" and we can identify the problem solvers from the problem claimers. We'll keep more high end talent and the website will continue to grow in the Asian countries and we are adapting to the rapidly advancing legalization and acceptance to the gambling in the US as well.
