Playstation 3 or Xbox 360?

I've played both...and both are solid. I think you'll be happy with either one. One thing I'm all about though is a good controller. I don't think anything beats the Playstation controller. That's why they've never changed it.

definately the 360, have a couple friends who have both and none of them touch the ps3..online is nothing compared to 360 also

ps3 long term, (a lil more expensive) Xbox short term, also the blue ray factor is what leaned me to ps3

360 has a way bigger and better online community, more people to play against is a big thing for me but ps3 is more solid machine if you are into a better operating single player machine that offers blue-ray...

I'd agree with that. The PS3 online community may start to pick up a bit once the price break happens and depending on the success of HOME, but for now the XBOX still rules online play.

if youre not going to hack it, just get the ps3.

ps3 will be around for a long time, the xbox360's life cycle will dwindle down in a few years because of the format limits. (larger games are already coming in multiple discs)

plus you get blueray and online play is free.

me personally i like the 360 controller better and i've got a hacked firmware flashed on the dvd drive, mostly so i can play "backups".

Yeah if you're like me and usually only play online 360 is definately a no brainer...there is a reason xbox live costs money, because its worth it. However if you're looking to just play offline i think its a toss up.

PS3 because it won't break within a couple of months of you buying it. I have owned both at one stage and as it stands, i prefer my PS3. I got a PS3 because my xbox broke after 5 months.

losturmarbles, i respectfully disagree.
i think the xbox 360 will have games for it long after ps3, activision has already warned they might quit making games for ps3 since sony can't move any units.

so imho (and even though i'm still pissed at microsoft for not honoring my warranty, making me buy another one) the xbox 360 is the way to go.

the ONLY way i would suggest ps3 instead is if you wanted a mlb game or something that is only available on that platform. otherwise the sports games are virtually identical, get ncaa football, madden, nba, whatever and have some fun! 1080p is awesome on these games!

Well yeah, but he said he doesn't need it for movies. Altho having the Playstation Store at your fingertips for movies/games/tv shows is pretty nice

And yeah, for MLB The Show alone, the PS3 is the way to go. What a game that is! Also, Hot Shots Golf is pretty amazing and I think only on the PS3.

But, I am PS biased, always have been. I've played the 360 but just like PS better and think with free online gameplay, blu ray and the like, PS is the way to go...

I have had my xbox 360 pretty much since launch. I had one problem with it, but under warranty and they fixed it in about a week. I had my system back within about two weeks. I think online is great with 360, but I have not really played PS3 too much, so I have nothing to say about that.
