They're talking about it again for next season.

For the rule to pass, 24 of the NFL's 32 owners would have to vote on it at the next Annual League Meeting, which is scheduled to be held March 29-April 1 in Palm Beach, Florida.
      4th and 15th. That's Giants football baby!

he'd have to be able to throw it over 5 yards down the field so I doubt it.

Let's just cut to the chase and make the game a Quarterback Challenge contest.

Awarding an offense with a FIFTH DOWN goes against the very heart of the sport.

This is stupid. Leave the onside kick alone. The only reason I turn on TV on Sundays is to watch onside kicks.

problem is after rule change onside kicks went from possible to impossible which is sad no excitement at end of games

Onside kick success dropped from 21 percent to 6 percent after new rule

6% is better. Teams should play better the rest of the game so they won't need an onside kick to get the ball back. No other sport rewards a team who is down big with a free play. It doesn't happen in basketball, baseball, hockey or soccer

Getting the ball at the 25 instead of the 20 made the league trashy for most of the commoners

NFL to experiment with alternative to onside kick at Pro Bowl
