Local out of business??!!!!!

I've been playing with a local for around two months. Lost the first week and have banged him pretty hard for the last 5 weeks in a row. Always been paid without a problem until today. Tells me he closing shop until the NFL season and that he needs a few days to settle up with me.

I freakin hate playing with offshore books but am pretty much stuck. Long story short....no local to play with and waiting on $1500+ bucks.

What kind of bookmaker goes out of freaking business?? I guess that can happen when everyone is broke and playing on credit

Not a lot of liquidity right now... Not sure how big he is but I am sure that most of his guys probably bet football. My local shuts down after the NBA finals and if I want something it has to be over a nickel and he gives me fukking shit odds.

Were you referred to this guy? Are you sure he was legit? In college this wanna be bookie who ran track for my school thought he was the man and wanted to be a bookie. Well me and 2 of my boys and I think around 3 football players took him for over $18k in 2 weeks! He got destroyed and didnt have the bankroll to pay us all out. He ended up paying most of us and then got ratted out and lost his full ride because of it...

I went through an Asian awhile back... The dude was more of a better than a bookie though. He was the best guy ever, I would call in to place my pitiful $100 bet and he would tell me who he has $5k-$10k on and then I would go online and put in a few parlays and he would kill it.

Action is placed online. Never had a problem until this week. I haven't been totalling killing him either.....little over $1G a week for the last 4 weeks.

Yeah just sounds like he doesnt have much cash because its not regular season for the smaller shops. But for someone who has an online gig set up, which costs like $50 a head a month I think, that shouldnt be the case. You'll probably get paid, but you experiencing this isnt out of the norm for smaller locals.

Locals have lost lots of clients due to the boom of online offshore books which much better odds and different types of wagers. Myself went thru a local for 6 years before i joined sbr and realized online is much better. So along i took 12 of my buddies to online as well. Im sure my local was hurt by this move, and didnt have enuff losers to balance out winners and they eventually go broke and close

I was told once that if you want to be able to handle 100 guys action, with average bets of $250-$1k, you should have no less than $50k bankroll to be able to take some lumps and some guys slow playing you.

I agree online blows locals out of the water. I still use a couple for the hell of it to see where lines are at and stuff but 80% is placed online. Plus you can put stuff in the night before or morning of and just sit back, not worrying about calling for the next set of lines or anything like that...

with my local if you dont pay up by friday you might as well kill yourself. I know a guy who woke up and his car was gone.i dont worry about paying them i have only payed on a friday 4 times in 7 years. i bet only a few games a week.
