Forget The Younger Guys...Maybe The Lakers Should Trade LeBron James
LOS ANGELES LAKERS are having to deal with a disaster after handing LeBron James a four-year contract, according to NBA expert Clay Travis.

Travis also told Lakers president Magic Johnson he should have traded James for Anthony Davis earlier this month.

New Orleans Pelicans star Davis tried to force a move to the Staples Center by handing in a trade request before the window slammed shut.

But all six of the Lakers’ offers were turned down - severely dashing their playoff hopes.

Travis believes the south California outfit would have been better off trading their three-time NBA winner to secure Davis.

“Going to the Lakers was not a basketball move,” Travis said of James' summer move from Cleveland Cavaliers.

“This to me, with four years on this contract, in year one being a mitigating disaster. LeBron is not suddenly going to get better when he is 37 or 38 years old.

“This is starting to look like a disaster to the Lakers franchise.

“If the Lakers wanted to trade somebody for Anthony Davis, you know who I’m thinking they should have tried for Anthony Davis? LeBron James.

“The Lakers should have shipped LeBron James to the Pelicans and gotten Anthony Davis in exchange and this franchise would have been a lot better in the long run.”

The Lakers lost to fellow strugglers Memphis Grizzlies and Phoenix Suns this past week.

And NBA pundit Nick Wright feels James should shoulder some of the blame.

“LeBron is not LeBron right now, it’s undeniable, he is labouring, he is not exploding the way we’re used to,” he said.

“And on the defensive side of things, he’s not a non-factor, he’s a negative factor.

“He is playing at a heavy weight which is hurting his condition.

Lol clickbait at its finest. If I'm GM of the Lakers there isn't another player in the NBA I'm trading Lebron for.
Even if I did remotely consider the idea, I would be asking for the moon for him.
    For instance hypothetical trade scenario
    Philly: Lebron James
Lakers: Embiid, Simmons, Harris, Reddick & 2 1st's

We all know Lebron hasn't had the best year as a Laker. He's acclimating to the new environment and next year is going to be the year he goes for the title. I hate naysayers who think Lebrons days as the most dominant player in the league are over. Simply not true! Remember this is the media sensationalism that drives the headlines. Even Jordan would struggle with this Laker's roster.

So the guy has smart people advising him. Seems to me his timing has been impeccable. Sold his lakers shares for a 40 mil profit. Got Starbucks in the hood at a 60 mil profit. Isn’t he part of the dodgers ownership group now?

I said James going to LA was not to win. There were a half dozen other teams with more talent and ready to win.

I honestly thought he would go somewhere to win, but it was about setting up his Post career which is sad. I actually really respected him until than.

Philly, Boston, toronto, okc, NO, SA, Houston, etc all could of made huge runs with him being added.

Magic Johnson was worried the Lakers would lose season ticket holders.... he admitted that.

That's why they signed Lebron James.... to hopefully secure season ticket holders... and add more excitement to Lakers basketball.

This "make the playoffs" crap was an add on. Sort of like a "bonus".

There was no way in hell they were going to make the playoffs.

                          Eastern Conference.... possible.

                          Western Conference... hell no.

Big deal about the playoffs anyways.... you'd have 2 Home Games for revenue.... and that would be it.

                          End of story.

Don't know who is worse for the franchise, the coach killing LeBron or the big mouth Lavar. The biggest difference between Michael and LeBron is Michael bought into his coach. LeBron wants to be the coach.

                                            They're thinking of adding Melo.

LeBron actually thought that the NBA would allow him to take 5 steps his entire career. Now all of a sudden his teammates aren't good enough or he's got a cramp on national television. The volcano insurance salesmen in the Los Angeles must be salivating

Lebron is still the GOAT.. He just needs another all star caliber player or two to help him out on this crappy young Laker team. They all gave up playing defense.. Even Rondo can't slow anyone down on the perimeter anymore. Lebron looks a step slower on defense this year also.. You will see perimeter blow bye's like crazy tonight. Watch for it..

Dude the Dodgers lose money every year

MLB has imposed madatory debt reduction upon them, look it up. That is why they aren't in on Manny/ Bryce. They are a horrible franchise.

They have significant sale value, but I'd be shocked if MJ as minority partnet (if he still is) would see anything. My guess is preferred stock cashed out first- he's at the end of the trough.
