He doesn't want to go there and has made it clear he won't stay long term.

I could see them make the move anyway if they were eligible to get him now and try to win a title but for a 1 year rental.I doubt it.

Pretty obvious at this point a deal is getting done. Lakers should be about 5-1 to win the 'ship with two top 5 players on their roster. Great value in the outright market

Magic knows there's a major backlash from this if he doesn't cave to the Pel's demands. He might lose his coach in the turmoil

Depth wise, Rondo/ KCP/ Svi/ Hart/ Hill/ Chandler, plus there's a trio of Knicks (Mathews/ Kanter/ DJ) soon to be bought out that will have the Lakers as their top choice.

Magic Johnson was brilliant as a player....

As President of Basketball Operations.... he has a fiery type of mentality. He doesn't think everything through.

He's hoping Kyrie Irving somehow makes his way to LA in the offseason. People say.... well.... Kyrie isn't taking Lebron's sh#$ anymore. But who really knows? Kyrie doesn't want to stay with Boston. So where does he go?

Worst case scenario... you just do your best during free agency in the offseason... and sign players around Davis and James. But James may only have 1 more good year left in him. So.... whatever they do... it has to be done fast.

The trade may never happen either.... New Orleans has to think everything through as well. They seem to be in no rush.
