I'll answer from my perspective. You can't learn anything from 4 losses, but after 30+ losses patterns start to emerge and you can learn from them. Every system(read: selection method) has leaks, just like winning poker players have leaks with certain hands at certain positions in certain formats at certain blind levels. You won't learn about the leaks unless you keep meticulous records with comments next to each pick. For example your leak could be NCAAB double digit home dogs. Do you know your exact record with such dogs? If not, you're not keeping good enough records.Originally posted by danshan11

Our single advantage over the bookies is that we can pick our spots with the biggest edge instead of betting 500 games a day. This also takes discipline.
