#3Maybe in a 2-3 yearsk there won't be any big immediate impact. Pennsylvania doesn't even have online gambling, New York won't be up until later this year. Other than New Jersey most of the bigger east coast states haven't done shit.Comment -

#11Sports betting was already illegal online thru offshore.
What the change does is now makes sports betting AND ALL forms of online gambling illegal, even in the states where it's now been approved.
Before the law only applied to sports betting.
Now even playing your state lottery online will be jeapordized.
The status of offshore betting remains the same as it has been.Comment -

#14From what I understand when they first started pushing for this, is that they were concerned as more and more states were legalizing sports betting, that they would be able to offer it to states other than their own, and even ppl residing in states that hadn't approved it.Comment -

#16The moral if this story is this.
Sheldon Anderson couldn't buy members of Congress who had new opinions of those in the past, who recently overturned PASPA.
So he found ppl he could buy in the Justice Department.
Just read this paragraph:
"A coalition backed by billionaire casino executive Sheldon Adelson lobbied the Justice Department in 2017 to reconsider its 2011 decision that cleared the way for states to allow online gambling."Comment -

#17I find it pretty amazing how Sheldon Adelson, the biggest casino mogul in the world, is funding the anti-online gambling movement. He pretends that there’s some kind of huge moral distinction between land casinos and online casinos. In truth, he is afraid online gambling takes away his business.
PS Why doesn’t Adelson get involved in the online gambling business himself, like almost every other casino owner in Vegas has? Is he afraid of getting sued if a 14 year old steals their parent’s credit card and loses a bunch of money gambling online?Comment -

#18I knew after about two sentences into the story that Sheldon Adelson's grubby little fingers were all in Trumps ass tickling his prostate to push this through. You want to protest? Never spend a dime in one of his casinos.Comment -

#19Sounds like it will affect online poker more than online sports betting, as states were only allowing locals to use online apps to bet anyway..Comment -

Adelson can’t die soon enough.
If God was remotely good, Adelson would have died 85 years ago.Comment -
