The part below from the Reuters story is what gets me. Every frickin' lender from this point on should deny any and all of his loan applications based on the fact they just aren't sure if they are misleading him on what he can and can't afford. Anyone that can't figure that out on their own doesn't deserve to be loaned one red cent.

Hackett said Washington Mutual, now part of JPMorgan, was the main lender on the 2007 home purchase, and that the bank misled Dykstra about his ability to afford the property. The lawyer said the bank deserves nothing on its claim.

What a spin job by Lenny's lawyer! Who believes in their right mind that a bank would set out purposely with the intention of foreclosing on someone! I guess Lenny isn't the financial guru as the public was lead to believe!

The guy that worked with Bryant Gumbel that made Dykstra sound like such a genius must be eating crow right now. He even referenced that interview in Gumbel's "what was your most special experience working on the show" panel as some of his most interesting work.

That was a great piece. Dykstra is certifiably insane in it.

"What about the flight attendant who says you owe her money?"

Do article search on Lenny Dykstra on espn.com if interested. They had a detailed article in April on Nails. Was selling stock picks fo $999 a month on website through msnbc stock guru Jim "Scammer" Kreamer(sp?). Article looked into some of the 2 dozen lawsuits against him. He had financial mag The Players Club he was sending to all pro teams, agents, etc. which he stiffed printing companies for. Only flew charter planes which he stiffed people for gas on. He fired more pilots than Donald Trump fires people. Screwed family over for money on car washes he owned and other things.

Sad story. I will always remember him as a Met and the big wads of chew he left in centerfield at Vet while playing for Phils.

Maybe he can play Ralph Malph in a remake of Happy Days!

The guy always reminded me of Ralph Malph from Happy Days.OK,Lenny missed the big modern day paydays in pro sports where all the teams have new stadiums that the tax payer wage slaves pay for freeing up money for the owners to over pay the players.

That said,Dykstra should have at the bare minimum 10 mill in pure after tax cash salted away. That's even if he lived a flamboyant lifestyle. You don't gamble when you are just an average dumb jock.If you love poker,it only costs 10k to eneter into big tournaments like the world series of poker in Vegas.Enter a handful of big tournaments and you lose 50K max.

When you made alot of money, you don't stay in the game exposing yourself. You take a knee like there is 20 seconds left in the super bowl and you are 2 points up and the other team has no time outs. You don't fling the ball up for grabs giving the other team a free chance to win the game! That's what all these idiot jocks do.

Fame goes to their head where they have to put on the dog buying a stable of Humvees,Corvettes.etc.You are in no position to risk your nest egg on buying stock not knowing if you are dealing with another Bernie Madoff.

Only poor people should gamble. If you are dead broke and you can get your hands on credit card money you don't have to pay back, you can only improve your lot in life if you win.The risk and reward factor for Dykstra to be gambling and buying stock was tremendously weighted against him. What's the difference if you have 10 mill pure cash or you gamble and get lucky and turn it into 25 mill?On 10 mill you are always going to have a nice house, nice vehicle or two,the best of food, ability to travel anywhere you want to go.The shrimp and filet mignon doesn't get better if you have 10 mill or 25 mill.

Dykstra is an idiot and all the hard core Wall Street types that are in the inner circle where they are all cronies where the fix is in for them look at him like a failed insignificant clown. He just provided cheap entertainment for the inner circle people.

With his parent company, The Players Club Operations LLC, Dykstra said he wanted to create a lifestyle for athletes, offering credit cards, a concierge service, charter jets and an annuity program to provide recurring cash flow for retirement.

wow, he tried to sound smart with his business model

no bullshit, when i saw the hbo real sports special last yr, something seemed shady about him. he was hellbent on proving the ppl wrong who doubted his intelligence outside a baseball field, that he tried to take shortcuts. he played a very risky options game in the stock market and if you know anything about that gm, you know he did not have the mental means to be playing that gm

the dude was a farce only had one successful venture which were his car washes at the beginning, everything else he has touched has turned to horseshit
