#144Rudy,
Thank you for checking in. I was released from physical therapy Feb 19th. Knock on wood I have been getting around the house since. No falls or anything. I only leave the house to go to appointments. Its pretty fukking depressing. Even if I could leave I couldnt get anywhere anyway. My damn truck is broke down. "low engine power" comes up on the display.
I have not been back to work yet. Been out of work since August 5th. Ive been on long term disability since Feb 1. Which is crap anyway.
Its a true lonely, depressing struggle and the Badger household. I cant wait until spring so at least I can go sit in the driveway. Fuk. Supposed to get pounded with snow again this weekend. Spring might never show up in the midwest.Comment -

I got a new wheelchair delivered today actually. The one I have been using was just borrowed from a place in town. That is only used when brushing my teeth, doing dishes or sitting in when I have visitors. It’s tough to stand for long periods of time.Comment -

#160Whats up boys,
Its been a few good months but now I am gong through a relapse. The past few weeks when I wake up and put my glasses on my vision has been blurry. However my vision corrects itself after a few minutes. Saturday 06/29 woke up and like usual my vision was blurry..but this time it didnt correct itself after a few minutes. I didn't worry about it as I have read from others the same thing happens but things return to normal....Monday 07/01 im now panicking. I call my neurologist and he says I need to go have a full eye exam done before they do any treatments. I get into an eye exam place on 07/03. Do the exam, turns out I will need bifocals he says. So I have to get new glasses ordered, spending $319 on glasses (FML). This all isnt in my monthly budget. Its the beginning of the downfall...
They say the glasses will take 7-10 business days to arrive. I get a call yesterday afternoon they are in. I get to the place, put them on and nothing changes. Still blurry as hell, maybe even worse. So blurry ive had to take time off of work again because I cant read the computer screen. To see my cell phone I need to take my glasses off. Bifocals dont work. Now I will need to wait until neurology opens this morning and give them a call.
Many people with MS, their first symptom is going blind. After a few weeks their vision comes back. My first symptoms was not being able to walk. I think im going down the road of gong blind for awhile. I am scared.
I am off of work again, no paid time off left, I cant go on short term or long term disability because I have used that time up already. So I have no income coming in. I am straight fuked.
This past week I got notice of 4 ambulance bills that have gone to collections because I am not paying them enough each month. I have five ambulance bills in total, I pay $50 to each each month and that is not good enough. I am sure another hospital bill will be sent to collections soon. Its $11k and they want $450/month. Ive only been sending $100. Life is a real struggle and very stressful which is not good because stress with MS causes these flare-up and relapses...which I am confident is the reason for my vision issues.Comment -

#165If your legally blind, which Im not sure what the definition of that is, you will automatically qualify for social security disability, and being legally blind pays substantially more than regular social security disability, plus it would be fast tracked, meaning you would get $ quickly. You just need to make a appointment at the SS office, and they will do all the paperwork for you if your not able to see it to fill it out, plus your going to need a opthamolagist to fill out a residual function form filled out saying what you can and cant do due to your condition, plus all your medical records documenting the ms. Good luck

#166Hey guys,
Its been awhile since ive had an update.
The vision thing in July is taken care of I think, knock on wood. Got my new glasses and its all good. Sometimes my left eye goes blurry but it corrects itself within a few hours.
So one of the most common side effects of MS is bladder issues. I have to get up and go pee every 60-90 min on average. Thats a lot. Especially at night. I havent had a good nights sleep in forever. Also when I need to go its urgent. Like there is a very short warning before I need to find a bathroom asap or else im screwed. It terrible because I dont want to leave the house. Im afraid of having an accident. Its already bad enough walking in public with a walker wondering what people are saying, now I fear pissing myself. My bladder controls my life.
So this morning I had a visit with two urologists. The first appointment I had to get a catheter put in. They would fill my bladder with saline and I had to tell them when I had to go, tell them when its urgent and I cant wait any longer. I was hooked up to some shit and they could monitor my muscles and stuff when I would try to hold the pee in and you could see when my bladder was spasming.
Second appointment I had a camera stuck up my dick. Mother f'er this was the most uncomfortable thing Ive ever had done. But they were looking in my bladder and at my prostate. Everything cleared and looked great. It was determined that my bladder just spasms and that is causing me to pee more.
There is such a thing as botox for the bladder. They stick a tiny needs up your dick and inject the botox in your bladder walls. This prevents you from peeing so much. Fuk as if the camera wasnt bad enough, now stick a needle up there? Fuk my life guys, im scared lol. Talk about anxiety levels going up. I was super stressed about today for the past week because I didnt know what to expect....now that Ive gone through this and know how it feels, I will have anxiety through the roof thinking about a needle.
