why no state or fed books
I live in a state where i can play the ponies all day by internet with no repercussions from big brother. Why then would'nt the government pick up some extra cake letting a sportsbook open?Whats the difference? At least if there were books in U.S. if they steal your money, you might have some chance to track them down rather than trying to find somebody in a third world country.Very confused on this issue.

It's indicative of the hypocrisy which belies our nation and elected officials.

It is all a matter of perception. They think gambling is bad and creates a bad element, and they also think that some forms of gambling are better than others. I agree that some type of gambling is better than others, but I don't agree with they games they think are ok for me to play.

In CA, I can legally play poker in card rooms across the state. I can also legally bet on horses and play the lottery all over the sate.

I can only play "Vegas" style cames (BJ, real not the CA versio, craps etc) in Indian casinos. It gets even more lame because, even in the Indian casinos, I can't use dice to play craps...I have to use cards (A-6).

Why is this? Becasue gambling is bad, so they ban most of it to protect me from myself. However, they must not understand math, because they let me play high vig games like lotto and horses, but they outlaw BJ, which has a HA of .39%.
