#6Go to the foreign country, tell them you'll be coming and going, show your passport and open the account.
It's not rocket science.Comment -

#9It's pretty easy, many foreign nationals go abroad, to study, vacation, work etc, it's not uncommon for a foreign national to open an account. The only thing you'll find is you can't do it on the net.
If you're thinking of doing it for gambling purposes, remember you can only draw out the limit of your ATM card per-day.Comment -

#12What is the purpose of said account?
If you are looking to fund gambling sites you will most times need an ID from your country with the bank which will require residency and a ****, etc.Comment -

#13Durito, i'm not sure where you've tried but I've opened many US accounts with a British passport and know foreign people that have done it in the UK, it's easy, so I'm not sure what countries you refer but I've done it, it's VERY easy.Comment -

in the usa they will open to illegal immigrants without id (used to anyway). i uk is i'm sure the same. in much of the rest of the world it's another story.
go into mexico sometime and give it try.Comment -

#17Originally posted by englishmikeIncorrect to a point. If he opened an account with a UK address all he needs to know is that address, nobody in the UK sends i.d. to uk books, but you're right, he'd be stuck if he needed it.
what does he do about an address? i assume you have to use a UK address on your bank statements for gambling sitesComment -

What I do know is, if he had a friend who lived in London and he visited and his friend agreed to let him use his address he could open a bank account and betting account from the same address and place the bets here and any winnings would be paid back to that UK account which could be withdrawn here with an ATM.
It's not complicated if you know someone there.Comment -

#20Durito -Thanks for the input. I think English understands what I am getting at. I dont care really where it is. I would feel more comfortable in the UK anyway. I am not getting on a plane in the AM. I am doing some preliminary research, sending out a question to anyone who may have some experiance with this. Input good and bad is welcome.Comment -

#21A UK book goes on one thing, address. If you've opened a bank account from a friends address and thats the address the card is registered to, thats it, the end. You fund the book with that card by transfering through xoom.com or something similar and withdraw by ATM.
For the record, I'm a UK citizen and I'm not reccomending anything that might be deemed illegal wherever it is you live.Comment -

#24Originally posted by duritocitibank colombia (which is not connected to citibank in the usa) wants a copy of my us social security card to open a savings account.
durito, if you trust your gf/wife. i suggest you open account with her passport. or get another passport.
btw, all citibanks will report your account interest to the IRS. if you do USD bankwires, all bank wires are routed through citibank branch in NYC.Comment -
