A day after providing an emphatic "no" regarding speculation he might resurface at Grand Canyon University, former University of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino was hired by Iona College.

Jon Rothsetin of CBS Sports reported Saturday afternoon that Pitino had been hired.

With the EuroLeague suspending operations in response to the coronavirus, Pitino returned to the United States on Friday from Greece. CBS Sports reported that Pitino told his players on Athens-based Panathinikaikos that he would return if their season resumes, but that he planned to coach college basketball.
