If you listen to alot of old geezers that were about 20 at the time of the depression starting when FDR enacted alot of his socialist programs like the CCC Civilian Conservation Corps,they too believe in this warped thought process where you gave up liberty and independence for a roof over your head and 3 meals a day.Most of these guys are dwindling in number but you always heard them talk of how people enjoyed captivity by doing something criminal and being jailed or by doing it voluntarilly where you were in a workers camp by joining the CCC.I just get a queezy feeling over being told what or what not to do at what time to do it or when not to do something by some government jack booted hacks with a title,a uniform and some authority given to them.That goes for even being in the military.

I have a stray cat that shows up at my doorstep twice a day that I feed and the last thing on my mind or probably the cat's mind is to have it become domesticated.Some things just need to have freedom and it's sad that more and more people want to become wards of the state.

Here is what I would do if I was homeless in hard times.I'm not saying it's the right thing to do but sometimes you just have to pull a rabbit out of your hat to make it in the world.Go to a big box chain store on a slippery day and take a tumble on the property.Wal Mart is no dummy and they will probably know you did it on purpose but if you are homeless and have a clean record where you never sued before,they can't have bad PR and will probably pay you an out of court settlement.It would be good for a one time dealie because after that,you would be labeled a con man.

Or,if you have ok credit and you can see trouble ahead in your future where your job and marriage is going down the crapper and everything else is too,go out and get a bunch of credit cards while you still can and max them out and blow town when everything crumbles around you.You always have to give yourself an out.You can always go to some low cost of living state in the boonies and work under the table in the underground economy.

maybe these bums should form an union and ask the gov for a bailout.
